How to Hack Your Work Life

Have you ever felt that your day at work is oh so stressful and just doesn’t yield the needed results? You might want to look at certain hacks that teach you how to be more productive at work.

  1. Try The Pomodoro Technique:

Instead of working at a stretch and then taking a huge break that just makes you feel lazy, the Pomodoro technique is about dividing work and rest in manageable bite-sized chunks. Here, you can slot your time in, say 30-minute intervals where you work for 25 minutes, and then take a 5-minute break. The idea is that the numerous breaks distract your brain from becoming lazy. After successfully completing these small breaks you can reward yourself with a big break.

  1. Silence The Notifications:

Notifications are annoying. But the biggest problem with them is that they distract you from work. Shutting down notifications ensures that when you’re engaged, a wayward text doesn’t steal all your attention and motivation away. Social media is an extremely distracting realm and the addiction factor of it often makes us sink unnoticeably long amounts of time into it. Hence, when working, it’s best to cut yourself off from your friends and followers and maintain your focus.

  1. Mini Milestones:

Create mini tasks for yourself instead of one big monolithic activity that just seems too difficult to conquer. Having smaller tasks to do is motivating and creates a sense of urgency that you can get things done right now. Conquering these small steps not only gives you a sense of progression but being able to comprehend how much of a task is left helps you mentally prepare and plan ahead for tackling it.
