About Thankscrate

A Good Human Company

We are working to change the world one positive interaction at a time. The way we do it is software. It is the infrastructure that lets a company act on the care it already has for its people.

What we believe

People remember how they felt

A thoughtful interaction can strengthen an employee's relationship with a manager, a customer's relationship with a business, or a person's sense that their work and life matter. Companies care about their people. What they lack is the system to act on that care consistently. That is the problem we exist to solve.

  • Appreciation should not depend on someone remembering
  • A moment should feel selected for the person, not mass-distributed
  • Appreciation belongs throughout the year, beyond one annual event

The company story

Why appreciation deserves its own infrastructure

Payroll has infrastructure. HR has infrastructure. CRM, benefits, performance, and communication all have infrastructure. Appreciation, the part of work people remember longest, has mostly run on spreadsheets, calendar reminders, and whoever happened to notice.

Thankscrate acquired its original product foundation from Sourcetoad, a Tampa Bay software company that had spent roughly two years building it for its own people. At the time the product mainly supported birthdays and anniversaries.

Since then we have rebuilt and expanded the software, the integrations, the vendor operations, onboarding, automation, and the go-to-market foundation into an appreciation infrastructure platform, the layer between a company's people and customer data and the moments that strengthen relationships.

The category did not have a name, so we gave it one. Corporate gifting was the first generation. Appreciation Infrastructure is the next.

  1. 01 · The gap

Every function got its infrastructure but one

Payroll, HR, CRM, benefits, performance. Appreciation ran on spreadsheets and whoever noticed.

  2. 02 · The foundation

    Built first in Tampa Bay

Sourcetoad spent roughly two years building the original product for its own people: birthdays and anniversaries.

  3. 03 · The rebuild

    Software, integrations, vendors, automation

Thankscrate acquired the foundation and rebuilt it into a platform: the layer between people data and the moments that matter.

  4. 04 · The name

    Appreciation Infrastructure

The category did not have a name, so we gave it one. Corporate gifting was the first generation. This is the next.
