Whatever tier you are on, a gift costs what it costs. Shipping and handling are in the price you see, the bill is the real cost when the order is placed, and every charge comes with an invoice.
At cost
The catalog price is what you pay. Sales tax is added on physical gifts.

A budget is a ceiling, not a price
A $45 ceiling and a $38 gift is billed as $38.
- A $45 Thankscrate is $45 plus sales tax, shipping and handling included
- A $50 gift card is $57.50, the 15% fee shown before you send, no tax at purchase
Physical gifts are taxed based on the recipient's shipping address. Digital gift cards carry a 15% service fee on the face value and are not taxed at purchase.

How billing works
When you're charged
About ten days before the occasion, once the order is placed. Manual or same-day gifts are charged when you confirm.
When the recipient chooses
Nothing is charged until they choose, or until the default gift ships.
If a payment fails
The order goes on hold and is retried nightly, up to three times, with an email each time.
Changing your mind
Cancel any order before it's charged. After that, support can help.
Growing past Scale
Enterprise plans the whole year within a budget and adds your company structure, Slack and Teams, text messages, single sign-on, terms, and a named contact. Talk to sales and we'll size it for your organization.
Gift credits
Prepay for gifts on terms if that suits your procurement.

How long does setup take?
One sitting. From the Employees page you connect the system, choose who syncs, review who will be imported and what each person is missing, and the program runs from there. Changes in your system arrive on their own after that.
What do we pay for, and when?
Each gift, when its order is placed, about ten days before the occasion. There is no monthly fee by default, no inventory to buy up front, and every charge comes with an invoice. If the recipient is choosing their own gift, you are not charged until they choose.
Do you mark up gifts?
No. A gift is billed at cost with shipping and handling included, on every tier, and a gift tier is a ceiling rather than a price. Digital gift cards carry a 15% service fee on the face value, shown before you send.
What is the difference between Spark, Scale, and Enterprise?
Spark is the catalog, your people, and gifts at cost, sent when you decide. Scale adds the automation: the calendar occasions run from your payroll data, your logo is on the emails and pages your people see, and you get reporting by team and month with priority support. Enterprise runs the whole year: you set a budget for the company, a division, or a person, Thankscrate plans a meaningful moment for every employee about every 73 days and sends it within the budget, and your company structure, Slack and Teams, and single sign-on come with it.
Is Scale really free right now?
Scale is $999 a year. While your company is connected to one of the payroll systems we automate, it is on us. Gifts are billed at cost, as on every tier. If that changes, you hear from us well before it does.
Is there a contract?
Spark has none. You pay per gift. Scale is a yearly plan, on us while you are connected to a payroll system we automate. Enterprise runs on the terms you agree with us.
Can we control budgets?
Yes. Every occasion has a gift tier, which is a budget range. You're billed the real cost of the gift, never above the tier's maximum.
Is there a free trial?
No trial is needed. Spark is free for as long as you use it, and Scale is included at no charge today. You pay for gifts, at cost, when an order is placed.
Is the gift-card option really any brand?
The recipient redeems their gift card for the brand they want at redemption time. You choose the amount. They choose the brand.
